Projects

There are two routes to doctoral funding with Knowledge Orders. One is to apply for one of the advertised projects that have been defined by a supervisory team. The other is an open call, where you propose to us your own project.

Advertised Projects

There are five research projects being advertised for funding, beginning in autumn 2024:

• Saints and Scholars: the development of Byzantine hagiography
• Ordering Knowledge in Tenth-Century England: lists and their manuscript contexts
• Remembering the Martyrs: the manuscripts of the martyrology of Usuard
• Crafting the Reformation: artisans and lettering
• Editing Lost Copy-Texts: the prose letters of John Donne

Open Call

You can propose to us a project which sits within one or more of our four broad themes, and which you believe our large team, across our two institutions, has the expertise to supervise. If you want advice, do not hestitate to contact the programme.
