Welcome to Knowledge Orders
Thank you for visiting the site of Knowledge Orders before Modernity (KOM for short), a Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarships Programme (LDSP). The programme is an innovative partnership which builds on the strengths of both King’s College, London and the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies at the University of Kent in Canterbury, two institutions which are highly regarded for their research and skills training for medievalists and early modernists at MA level. The intention is to extend that training to PhD level and so tackle a national need to upskill a new generation so that we can make our handwritten heritage accessible in the emerging digital age.
